Some of her grandchildren nicknamed her "Grandma Cookie." In later life, she loved to read, especially Danielle Steele books.At 90 years old she learned how to operate a Kindle Paperwhite, which was a lot easier for her to hold.
She loved baking for her large family and her children's friends.
She is still remembered by a few of these friends for her cookies.
In 1952, Bob married the love of his life, Fern Buchholz, and they had two sons, Richard and William.
After traveling across the country working construction, Bob and Fern settled in Orofino so Bob could work on Dworshak Dam until he retired in 1982.
Virginia is survived by daughters, Juliann (Daniel) Cattron of Lewiston and Sharon Alviar of Mc Cleary, WA.; sisters, Evelyn (Carl) Dalberg of Bonners Ferry and Alice Roberts of Athol; her grandchild, Joanna Cattron of Lewiston; and great-grandchild Shawntell Cattron of Lewiston; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
